The Cowboys cross country team made the trip to Kremmling for the West Grand Invitational on Saturday. The girls ran first again this week, and Brighton Bair ran a great race on the tough course, finishing in 24:19 and third place overall. Haylee Steele was the only other Meeker girl competing this week, and finished in 27th place at 32:55.
In the boys race, Wyatt Rollins showed his early season fitness with a fourth place finish in 21:36. Gabe Smithers was less than a minute behind, at 22:25 and seventh place. Aidan Tapia and Eddie Drussell finished 14th and 15th, in 23:50 and 24:24, respectively. Oliver Holmes fought off two competitors right to the finish line, at 24:49 and 17th place. Dawson Richardson was 10 places back, finishing in 29:52 and 27th. Cameron Hanberg ran the course in 32:01 for 30th place, and Remy Broussard was 33rd at 37:57. The boys also scored well enough to take third place as a team.
