Athos Life, a company owned and operated by Dr. Justin Grant and his wife Rebekah Grant, hosted their first inaugural wrestling summit up at Meadow Lake over the weekend. The summit featured wrestling coaches from Meeker and the surrounding area including Trevor Grant, Stryker Lane, Tytus Coombs, and TJ Shelton.
Dr. Grant let the kids know early on in the camp that this camp wasn’t just about developing wrestlers it was about developing them for life and preparing them mentally and physically for the road ahead.
The Athlos Life website described the camp as, “ A new vision, better appreciation, and higher purpose for their wrestling careers and lives beyond gold medals.”
The camp was for ages first grade through senior in high school and had attendance from Rifle, Moffat County, Meeker and Rangely.
Camping, wrestling and workouts in the great outdoors followed by mindset talks provided some different perspectives for the kids on their journeys to adulthood.
Next year’s camp is already being planned to continue the development of the youth.
