The County Cup Swim team dual meet will take place Friday, May 6, at 4 p.m., in the Eastern Rio Blanco Metropolitan Recreation and Parks District’s aquatics center. It will be the first swim meet in the two-year-old facility.
“This is an introductory swim team program, focused on building swimming skills in a fun and enjoyable environment,” ERBM program director Layne Pearce said.
Pearce said the five week program was designed to improve “stroke techniques, as well as conditioning,” and the season will come to an end with the County Cup.
Jamie Bumguardner has been coaching 24 boys and girls from Meeker, ages six to 16 and Beth Scoggins has been working with Rangely students in Parkview Elementary during P.E.
Pearce said the ERBM is currently in the process of joining the High Country Swim League for the summer season.
