RBC I Enterprise Production, owner and operator of the Meeker Gas Plant, donated $30,000 to the Eastern Rio Blanco Fire and Rescue District. This money will help to buy and equip a 4WD “quick-response vehicle” to be stationed in the heart of the Piceance Basin. Equipped with all necessary tools and supplies, the vehicle will be staffed by trained medical volunteers working in the area.
Already the fire district, Pioneers Medical Center and industry have collaborated to train EMTs and have stationed a 2WD ambulance with the Shell project. Those EMTs have provided critical patient care in several emergency calls and support for the ambulance crew dispatched from Meeker. The energy companies in the Piceance area have shown a strong commitment to the concept of volunteerism. Earlier this year ExxonMobil donated $30,000 to this ongoing effort to improve emergency medical service resources in the Piceance.
