Colorado Northwestern Community College LeaderTrek learning community students organized a Fall Festival for children at Rangely’s Elks Park on Saturday. Children participated in a pumpkin carving contest, a costume contest, scarecrow creation, face painting and “wacky lab” activities, along with a balloon dart game hosted by CNCC aviation technology students and a coloring table by Phi Theta Kappa students. CNCC chemistry and math instructor Dr. Jay McLaughlin took children on horseback rides around the park. Money raised at the festival will be donated to the Rangely Animal Shelter, LeaderTrek adviser Lee Stanley said.
