Rangely

HOME OF: Mathew and Lissa Freeman

RANGELY | Mathew and Lissa Freeman of Rangely are this week’s “home of” honorees. The Freemans have lived here 13 years. They will celebrate 23 years of marriage June 3.
“Mat is a network telephone technician for CenturyLink. He installs and repairs cable and installs phone and Internet for them. He’s the serviceman. He’s been in the telephone business off and on since 1978. He started working for PTI 17 years ago. PTI sold to CenturyTel and now it’s CenturyLink. I’m currently a loan officer at First National Bank of the Rockies. I started working there in 1996 as a loan administrative specialist and was promoted to a loan officer,” Lissa explained.
The Freemans have one daughter, Rachael. Rachael was graduated from Rangely High School in 2004. Rachael lives in Grand Junction and works in the public relations department at a radio station. Rachael is engaged to Kobey Rose. Kobey is employed by EnCana. He is the son of former Rangely residents Vern and Irene Rose.
The Freemans have two Labrador dogs, an 8-year old chocolate lab named Bud and a 3-year old black lab named Bella. Their dogs had a litter of six puppies on Christmas Day 2009.
“Mat enjoys walking our dogs. He is an avid outdoorsman who hunts and fishes. I enjoy reading and gardening,” Lissa said.
“I like the people here and the small town feel. I just lost my mom, Dolores Cummings, Feb. 12. She was living in long-term care at Rangely District Hospital. Everyone has been so great to me. I like that you can walk out your back door and go for a walk or view wildlife. We moved from the coast of Oregon to Rangely in 1995. We love the dry, sunshiny days here. Rangely is a great place to call home,” Lissa ended.
