Dianne Lauretta Ficken, 72, was born on May 25, 1940, and went home to be with her Lord on Sept. 18, 2012.
Dianne was born in Anaheim, Calif., to Harold and Almira Fellbaum. She was the oldest of three children. When she was a senior in high school she met Ronald Ficken, and they were married on May 25, 1959. They were blessed with 53 years of marriage and had three sons, Randy, Roger and Rodney.
Dianne loved to participate in a wide variety of activities. Her absolute favorite pastime was walking the beach collecting seashells.
Other interests included, fishing, singing, volunteering for children, quilting, baking, teaching kindergarten, painting, and picking berries with her grandchildren.
Dianne Ficken was blessed during her life and lived in the following countries and states where she volunteered in orphanages, schools, churches and special needs schools: Bahamas, Canada, Africa, Washington, California, Texas and Colorado.
Dianne was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma cancer in June. Although struggling with the disease was hard, she ultimately kept a strong faith in the Lord, whom she has loved for many years serving in the Lutheran Church.
Her husband, Ronald Ficken and sons Randy, Roger and Rodney and eight grandchildren survive her.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rangely at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012.
