Obituary: John James Caulfield

John James Caulfield
John James Caulfield
John James Caulfield was born March 14, 1953, on Portsmouth Naval Base in Kittery, Maine, to James John and Joyce Ann Caulfield. John was taken home to his Lord on Dec. 13, 2014, at the age of 61.
John was graduated from Lincoln Academy in Maine in 1972. The same year, John joined the United States Navy, serving on the USS Dalgrin, USS Fulton and the USS New Jersey.

In 1983, while stationed on the USS New Jersey, John was sent into Beirut for supplies and was present at the barracks bombing. In 1992, John retired with the rank of store clerk 1 (SK1) while serving on the USS Fulton in Groton, Conn.
In 1976, John met the love of his life, Kitty Rose Bailey Caulfield. On Jan. 28, 1977, Jon and Kitty were married in a civil service in Pensacola, Fla. On April 15, 1978, John and Kitty welcomed a baby boy and on July 27, 1980, welcomed a baby girl to the family.
John was an avid fisherman, spending much time at the various lakes and on the White River. He enjoyed watching the Colorado Rockies games and the New England Patriots football games, often yelling at the television, giving coaching advice.
John spent time hunting, fishing, bowling, playing flag football and softball. He always welcomed a good joke. John also relished a good game of cribbage, card games and board games. If you visited John, the hunting and fishing channels were often on the television. And there wasn’t a John Wayne movie he couldn’t quote or hadn’t seen.
John is preceded in death by: his parents; daughter Lisa Williams; and numerous other family members.
He is survived by: his wife, Kitty; a son, Jason (Rosie) Caulfield; a daughter, Jennifer (Vincent) Bouzek; his sisters, JoAnne (William) Perkins, Jane (William) Boisvert; a brother Joseph (Twyla) Caulfield; his grandchildren, Levi and Avarie Caulfield and Tyler and Ryan Williams; and multiple nieces and nephews.
John’s ashes will join his family in Maine and be placed to rest with his parents.
