MEEKER I A proposed land swap between Colorado Parks and Wildlife and XTO Energy will be the topic of a public presentation hosted by Colorado Parks and Wildlife in Meeker on Tuesday, June 19, from 7-8 p.m. in the Meeker Service Center at 73485 Hwy. 64.
Members of the public are invited to learn details about the proposal from wildlife managers, and will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss details about the swap.
The proposed exchange will transfer 925 acres of the Piceance Creek State Wildlife Area, located along Rio Blanco County Road 5, to XTO Energy. In return, Colorado Parks and Wildlife will receive 1992 acres located approximately seven miles north of the state wildlife area, off Rio Blanco County roads 142 and 143.
