Rangely Locals: April 9 edition

RANGELY — Springtime in the Rockies!
We went to Grand Junction last week to have family pictures taken and Douglas Pass was ugly, then on Sunday the sun was shining. Let’s see what kind of weather the Easter Bunny brings. Speaking of the Easter Bunny, Emma didn’t like it any more than she liked Santa at Christmas!
The Rio Blanco Schools Federal Credit Union had its annual member appreciation dinner a few weeks ago. They had wonderful food, provided by Giovonni’s, and gave away great door prizes — including a jacket won by yours truly! It sounds like Charleen, Jacque and Annette are also very much appreciated by the members, as well.
Looking ahead, the CNCC Foundation will host its annual Foundation Dinner Dance April 18. Tickets are $30 per person or $175 for a table of six. There will be entertainment including Angie Kenney singing, a silent auction, live auction and a student auction. Tickets are available at a variety of places including the Rangely Chamber of Commerce (675-5290) and Quality Carpet and Furnishings (675-5170).
Rangely High School sports will host some events at home this week. Baseball will compete against Moffat County April 11 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and on April 13 the soccer team will play against Grand Valley at 4 p.m. Both teams will compete on April 14, with baseball beginning at 2 p.m. and again at 4 p.m. against Paonia and soccer begins at 4 p.m. against Vail Mountain.
Today, April 9, there will be a Parent/Community Configuration meeting at 6:15 p.m. in the Rangely High School lower commons area. The meeting will be to discuss the configuration of the classes since Parkview Elementary will be closed. All parents and interested community members are invited to attend.
Happy birthday to Leslie Rice and to June Striegel on April 13. Happy birthday to Jordan Brady on April 14 and happy birthday to Aubree Wood on May 15.
Until next time, give me a call at 675-8021 or e-mail [email protected] with news to share!
