The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center administered 504 phone calls last week including 28 911 calls, 59 calls for Meeker PD and placed 175 outgoing calls. A total of 190 calls for service were created, 88 for the Sheriff’s Office, 86 for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and two assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 17 traffic stops issued two citations and arrested one on a DUI. MPD had 14 stops, issued two citations and had one arrest. There were 11 stops on Highway 13 with two citations issued.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 14 agency assists, five 911 hang ups, four animal calls, one civil paper served, two business checks, six citizen assists, four disturbances, two K-9 deployments, nine motorist assists, eight suspicious incidents, three warrant arrests and one each: civil, DUI, BLM wildland fire, M-1 transport, narcotics, property, RO violation, theft and traffic complaint.
MPD calls included six agency assists, one 911 hangup, 13 animal calls, 24 business checks, four citizen assists, two civil issues, four disturbances, two harassment, two parking violations, three suspicious incidents, two thefts, two traffic complaints, four VIN inspections and one each: motorist assist, RO violation, traffic accident.
There were 10 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue, including one medical transport, four ambulance requests, one residential electrical fire. Assisted the schools in providing a mock accident.
There were five assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in seven, six by the Sheriff’s Office, and one from RPD. Five inmates were released. There are currently nine inmates in the facility. There were two transports to or from other facilities.
Three vehicle crashes were reported in the county, one involving car/deer.
There was one DUI arrest by the Sheriff’s Office.
