Besides the riders, the bull supplier teams of three bulls each also competed. Each bull is judged out of a possible 100 points. Only two riders lasted the necessary eight seconds on their first round bulls—and they split the rider cash award based on their score, also out of 100 possible points. First place finisher Garrett Uptain from Craig, Colo., went home $3,120 richer and Trasen Jones from Malad, Idaho, won second place taking home $2,080. The winning bull team, produced by Ty Rinaldo, TZ Bucking Bulls, Castle Rock, Colo., won $2,550 with 262 points. Mann Creek Bucking Bulls, Dammeron Valley, Utah, and Ty Farris Bucking Bulls, New Castle, Colo., tied for second, each taking home $1,275, with 261 points each. Thirty bulls competed. Bull names included Scorpion, Anger Management, Crime Scene and Lowlife. Twisted Rooster from Ty Farris was the best scoring bull and won $500. Jed Moore is CNCC's head rodeo coach and the manager of Columbine Park where the event was held. The Western Rio Blanco Metropolitan Recreation and Parks District is the pinnacle donor to this event.
