Economic studies (https://www.amiba.net/resources/multiplier-effect/) indicate that 48% of the revenue generate d by independent small businesses are recirculated in the community, compared to 13.6% from chain retailers.
When you head out to do your Christmas shopping this year, think small and think local first. You may just be able to knock everything off that list without leaving town or firing up the computer.
