Supersized load will halt traffic

RBC — An oversized or “super load” will make its way through Rio Blanco County today and Friday, halting traffic in spots.
The load, which weighs 580,000 pounds and is 236 feet long, is headed to the new Williams Energy gas plant in the Piceance Creek Basin.
The load will be transported from Craig to Meeker on Highway 13 on Thursday, and from Meeker to the gas plant on County Road 5 on Friday, said Rebecca Henderson, a spokeswoman for the escort company.
“There will be small interruptions of traffic flow,” Henderson said. “But I’m not anticipating more than a 15- or 20-minute delay.”
