Dinner theater in Meeker Feb. 23

The Meeker Arts and Cultural Council in cooperation with the ERBM Recreation and Park District will present a dinner theatre production based on Aesop’s Fables, Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Fairfield Center. The cast includes local community actors and members of the school drama club. The Clatterbaugh family (and gang) won the family scavenger hunt and Colby Clatterbaugh was named the Grand Champion and keeper of the Traveling Golden Cup for the next year.

MEEKER I The annual cardboard derby, hosted by the Eastern Rio Blanco Metropolitan Park and Recreation District, had more than 55 participants from all age groups last weekend.

Cast members of the musical Seussical Jr. dance during a recent dress rehearsal before their upcoming performances Friday and Saturday. More than 50 young thespians have been rehearsing since August for Friday’s performance at 6 p.m. And Saturday’s performance at 3 p.m., both in the Meeker High School Auditorium.

5K features more than 100 runners for Capitol Christmas Tree walk/run

More than 100 walkers and runners participated in the 5K last Saturday. Rio Blanco County high school athletes Jake Boesch of Meeker and Rangely’s Tessa Slagle were the first male and female runners to cross the finish line.

Rangely True Value defends title

The Rangely True Value Hardware coed softball team had to win four games in a row Thursday last to defend its league title and they did, winning two games in the loser’s bracket, then defeating Ace Trucking twice in a row to win the title. Playing on the Rangely team were (back row) Kacey Denny, Stephan Boleng, Keenan Harvey, Brielle Harvey, Billy Estes, Jessica Fortunato, Marta Estes, Kody Denny and Kendall Cushman, (front) Kelsey Norian James and Whitney Torsell.
