MEEKER | According to Dessa Watson extension agent 4-H/Youth development, “a nice group of kiddos” served 34 grandparents at the annual 4-H grandparent appreciation dinner, held in Meeker early this month.

Shults undefeated in showmanship

Madi Shults remains undefeated in beef showmanship in 2012 and was honored as the highest ranked 4-H junior livestock judge in Colorado.

MEEKER I Madi Shults, a member of the White River 4-H Livestock Club, returned from the 2012 Colorado State Fair. Accomplishing two of the three goals she set at the beginning of this 4-H season.

Local saddlemaker shares passion for his craft

Klenda and Brennan both share their knowledge and experience with local 4-H and he was awarded “Best of Show at the recent RBC Fair for his leather heart, symbolic of he and Brennan’s volunteerism to the local 4-H club and others in the community.

MEEKER I Bob Klenda’s most recent award-winning piece was a beautiful leather heart that earned “Best of Show.” The piece is symbolic of the volunteerism he and Mike Brennan give to the local 4-H club and other community members.

RBC 4-H alumnus in hall of fame

Laurel Kubin, Tony’s 4-H Agent in Rio Blanco County, is now the county extension director in Larimer County, Colo., pictured with Tony Seely.

RBC I The Colorado 4-H Hall of Fame was established in 2011 to recognize 4-H alumni who have made significant contributions or accomplishments in their lives and attribute those accomplishments to their 4-H experience.

MEEKER I The Meeker 4-H Council met Wednesday, April 4 after school. A great turn-out of seventeen members were in attendance to make plans and generate community pride ideas for the summer.
