RANGELY — The Panthers completed a busy week of wrestling by defeating two defending state champion teams and going 7-2 in duals. Rangely traveled to Parachute last Thursday for a dual with the defending state champions, Grand Valley. This dual was a dogfight from the start with many matches decided in the final seconds.
RANGELY — The Rangely Panther wrestling team traveled to Granby last Friday to compete in a 24-team tournament.
MEEKER — Devon Pontine and T.J. Shelton both have been traveling to Craig to work out with the Bad Dogs wrestling club two times a week since early November.
MEEKER — “It was our first outing and our younger kids got their eyes opened to what high school wrestling is all about,” Meeker High School wrestling coach Joe Gutierrez said.
MEEKER — The Cowboy wrestling team will open the 2008-2009 season in Hotchkiss this weekend, under a new head coach, only the fifth in Meeker’s storied program.
MEEKER — Many Colorado wrestling fans were treated to the opportunity of watching Henry Cejudo win two state titles a few years ago in the Pepsi Center. Since then, the 21-year-old has won an Olympic gold medal and will speak in Meeker Nov. 28.
MEEKER — Keenan Turner, Brandan Stewart and Joe LeBlanc, Meeker’s three, three-time state wrestling champions held a takedown clinic last Saturday for wrestlers in the exhibition hall at the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds.
