The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 555 phone calls this last week, receiving 40 911 calls, answered 50 calls for Meeker Police Department and placed 159 outgoing phone calls. A total of 144 calls for service were created, 85 for the Sheriff’s Office, 54 for MPD. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 13 traffic stops issued one citation and MPD had nine stops and issued nine warnings. Highway 13 south had two traffic stops and issued one citation.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 15 agency assists, eight animal calls, 11 civil papers served, two business checks, three motorist assists, two search and rescue calls, three suspicious incidents, three traffic crashes, two warrant arrests and one each: assault, citizen assist, civil, fraud, M-1 transport, missing person, traffic arrest, traffic hazard and trespass.
MPD calls included five agency assists, one 911 misdial, six animal calls, three alarms, eight business checks, three citizen assists, two civil, two disturbances, two motorist assists, two property, four suspicious incidents, three traffic crashes, two traffic complaints, two VIN inspections and one each: fraud, juvenile problem, theft.
There were six calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including one medical transfer, four ambulance requests and one traffic crash.
There were five assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in 10 and released six, MPD with one arrest, five for the Sheriff’s Office and four with Rangely PD. Staff transported three to or from other facilities. There are currently 16 inmates in the facility.
There were no DUI arrests and 10 accidents in the county. Five involved animals.
