The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. The dispatch center processed 528 phone calls this last week, receiving 30 911 calls, answered 79 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 127 outgoing phone calls. A total of 135 calls for service were created, 76 for the Sheriff’s Office (RBCSO), 57 for MPD. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
RBCSO conducted 27 traffic stops issued nine citations and MPD had 10 stops and issued three citations. Highway 13 south had 13 traffic stops and issued six citations.
Other calls for the RBCSO included seven agency assists, four 911 hang ups, seven animal calls, six civil papers served, three business checks, two citizen assists, four motorist assists, three suspicious incidents, two traffic complaints, two VIN inspections and one each: ATV accident, civil, DUI, fire, search and rescue, traffic crash and trespass.
MPD calls included five agency assists, three 911 misdials, four animal calls, 10 business checks, seven citizen assists, three suspicious incidents, four VIN inspections and one each: alarm, assault, child abuse, criminal mischief, disturbance, harassment, juvenile problem, motorist assist, theft, traffic accident and traffic complaint.
There were eight calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including three medical transfers, one ambulance request, one alarm, one grass fire, one backcountry rescue and one traffic crash.
There were four assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in three and released seven, three arrests for RBCSO and one with Rangely Police Department. Staff transported one to or from other facilities. There are currently 12 inmates in the facility.
There was one DUI arrest and eight accidents in the county four involving animals.
