The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 410 phone calls this last week, receiving 18 911 calls, answered 58 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 94 outgoing calls. A total of 127 calls for service were created, 71 for the Sheriff’s Office, 56 for MPD. Two traffic crashes occured in the county. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 20 traffic stops issuing two citations and MPD had 18 stops and issued one summons. Highway 13 south had six traffic stops issuing warnings.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included nine agency assists, six animal calls, nine civil papers served, two suspicious incidents, three trespass calls, two warrant arrests and one each: abandoned vehicle, business check, citizen assist, civil, fire, fire ban violation, juvenile problem, traffic arrest (stolen vehicle), traffic complaint, VIN inspection and smoke report.
MPD calls included five agency assists, two 911 misdials, five animal calls, eight business checks, seven civil issues, three disturbances, two motorist assists, three traffic complaints, two vin’s and one each: alarm, attempt to serve, citizen assist, harassment, juvenile problem, property, suspicious incident, traffic accident, traffic hazard.
There were eight calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including one medical transfer, one smoke report, three ambulance requests, one vehicle crash and two alarms.
There was one assist with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in six and released seven, four from RBSO and two from Rangely PD. There are currently 10 inmates in the facility.
There were no DUI arrests.
