BMS wrestlers qualify 14 for state tourney

MEEKER I Twenty-two Barone Middle School wrestlers used their first day of spring break last Saturday to wrestle in the state qualifying regional tournament in Fruita. Fourteen of them placed in the top eight, qualifying them to wrestle in Denver this weekend.

Fire danger unusually high

RBC I Recent windy, dry conditions have already prompted Red Flag Warnings for northwest Colorado. Green-up, which helps to slow fires spread, has not yet occurred in most areas and dead grass and brush is ready to burn.

Mill levy would ensure school sports can continue

RANGELY I The Rangely School District and The Western Rio Blanco Recreation and Park District are working together to continue the positive trajectory of the school district’s academic achievement and to assure sports/activities for the next five years with a mill levy proposal in May.
