RBC I The regular season is over, the tournament has started and the championship game was played last night between familiar foes, the defending champions, Ace Trucking of Meeker and last year’s runners-up from Rangely, Prater’s Plumbing and Heating.

School year under way in RBC towns
RBC I The summer fun and frolic is over for the school-aged youths of Rio Blanco County as students in Rangely and Meeker reported back to school this week for the beginning of the 2014-15 school year.
Broadband meeting this morning
RBC | An open public meeting will be held today at the Freeman E. Fairfield Center in Meeker to discuss broadband initiatives and progress in Rio Blanco County. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ meeting room at the Fairfield Center, 200 Main St.

Rangely Hurricane swimmers finish second in Cortez meet
RANGELY I The Rangely Hurricanes swim team finished its season by competing at the annual Colorado Seasonal Club State Championships in Cortez, a meet the team has won for the past six years.
Meeker Night Out…
The Meeker Police Department drew roughly 150 people to Paintbrush Park on Aug. 5 for Meeker Night Out, which included a barbecue and a movie in honor of National Night Out, designed to bring families together for an evening and to cut down on crime activities for the night.
