On Oct. 28, Andrew Slack of Rangely earned the Arrow of Light Award, which is the highest award in Cub Scouting. He is pictured with his parents, Merilee and Ryan Slack.
Second bull…
Tanner Ridgeway, 13, of Meeker harvested this bull on Nov. 7 at Wilson Creek, while hunting with his father DJ Ridgeway and his uncles Jason and Danny. This is the second year that Tanner has been hunting for elk and this is Tanner’s second bull.

Fourth graders eligible for free Christmas tree permit
RBC I White River National Forest is excited to announce that all fourth graders are eligible for a free Christmas tree permit through the new White House initiative Every Kid in a Park (“Every Kid”). Every Kid is a nationwide call to action to build the next generation of conservationists.

MEEKER I Results from the initial Partnership of Readiness for Assessment for College and Careers (PARCC) assessments are slowly becoming available. The PARCC assessments tested English and mathematics skills for students in third through 11th grade in the spring of 2015.
