Obituary – Sherry Lee “Sheffy” Jordan

March 23, 1942 ~ Sept. 30, 2024

Sherry Lee (Sheffy) Jordan was born to Wayne and Ethel (Hornik) Sheffy on March 23, 1942, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and passed Sept. 30, 2024, in Meeker, Colorado, with her loved ones by her side.

Sherry spent her younger years in Lebanon moving to Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1944 where her dad was stationed in WWII. Sherry enjoyed living by the ocean and all of its activities, attending school, working as a waitress and a parts salesperson for a wholesale plumbing company. In the late 1970s, she moved to Ocala, Florida, along with her husband Buddy (Howard) Jordan where they lived on a thoroughbred horse farm and she worked for a plumbing company. Their free time was spent exploring Florida and enjoying time with friends and family.

Sherry moved to Meeker in 2001 to be with her mother, sister Pam Sullivan, brother-in-law Kelly and niece McKenzie where she found her “home.” She fell in love with Meeker and the many riends she made here. Sherry was a wonderfully kind and generous person who didn’t know a stranger and touched many lives.

She had many interests and talents, dancing was close to the top of her list. Sherry also volunteered at the Walbridge Wing, was a Pioneers Hospital “Greeter” until Covid came along, The Wing Nuts (crafters who sold their “wares” at a yearly craft sale to support the resident’s activities) and the crafting/social groups at the Library on Thursdays and the WREA on Tuesdays. Many folks in town have been the recipients of her crocheted scarves, blankets and potholders.

Sherry also enjoyed the many community activities including adult and school plays, lunch and shopping with friends, touring the countryside looking for “critters,” her cats, plants, spoiling neighborhood pets and spending time with family.

Sherry is survived by her sister Pam, husband Kelly and niece McKenzie and her many cousins in Pennsylvania. She will also be missed by the many friends she left behind.

We are very grateful to the caring staff of Pioneers Hospital, friends who came to be by her side, and the many cards, phone calls and flowers received. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring of 2025.
