Kael Overton of Meeker poses with his first-place trophy after winning the 138-pound division at the freshman and sophomore state wrestling tournament in Denver this past weekend. Three Rio Blanco County wrestlers competed at the event, including Reid Zadra of Rangely at 120 pounds, Meeker’s Jonah Christensen at 190 pounds and Overton at 138 pounds. Overton captured the gold medal, while Zadra and Christensen also competed well but did not place.
