30 join in camo, bugling contest

Roughly 30 Meeker-area youths competed in the annual Meeker 2015 Bugling and Camouflage Contest Wednesday night at Meeker Elementary School. Meeker Police Department hosted the competition which was sponsored by White River Electric Association, Meeker General Mercantile and Wyatt’s Sports. Brenden Clatterfield was grand champion.
Roughly 30 Meeker-area youths competed in the annual Meeker 2015 Bugling and Camouflage Contest Wednesday night at Meeker Elementary School. Meeker Police Department hosted the competition which was sponsored by White River Electric Association, Meeker General Mercantile and Wyatt’s Sports. Brenden Clatterfield was grand champion.
MEEKER I Approximately 30 kids participated in the 2015 Meeker Elk Bugling and Camouflage Contest at Meeker Elementary School on Oct. 28.
The event was part of Red Ribbon Week and was put on by the Meeker Police Department and sponsored by White River Electric Association, Wyatt’s Sports and Meeker General Mercantile. The grand prize and first through third places won trophies in first through fifth grades.

Grand champion in the contest was Brenden Clatterbaugh, who is taking home the top honor for the fourth straight year.
Each of the contestants received a ticket for a door prize, and they received a variety of items related to hunting like binoculars, camouflaged shirts, hats, gloves, bugling reeds and flashlights, which were all donated, Meeker Police Lt. Phil Stubblefield said.

CAMOUFLAGE CONTEST
First: Connor Padilla; Second: Cody Richardson: third: Jacob Blaon; fourth: Clay Randall; fifth: Emily Archuleta; and sixth: Landon Lopez.
ELK BULGING CONTEST
First Grade: First place: Addison Moon; second: Cody Richardson; third: Tucker Chinn.
Second Grade: First place: Fallon Heck; second: Hayden Garcia.
Third Grade: First place: Clay Randall; second: Hayley Rippy; third Becca Hood.
Fourth Grade: First place: Logan Pozorski; second: Conor Padilla; third: Coy Richardson.
Fifth Grade: First place: Isabelle Heck; second: Brooke Archuleta.
According to Stubblefield, judges were Jarrett Waldref, Jeff McGuire and Scott Meszaros.
