MEEKER | Renovations to the football field and track at Starbuck Stadium are now complete. With this new facility, the school district will once again be able to host high school and middle school track meets. For pictures of the project, please view the Meeker School District website (www.meeker.k12. co.us) and click on the “Football Field and Track Project” link on the homepage. As a reminder to our community, current funds available for this project have come only through generous donations from the Meeker Education Foundation, ERBM Recreation and Park District, and a grant from Great Outdoors Colorado. No school district dollars have been spent on this project. The track has been named in honor of Bob King for his years of service to the school district and the generous donation from his family that made this project a reality. A short dedication ceremony has been planned during halftime of the Meeker Cowboys home football game on Oct. 7. King and his family plan to be in attendance so they may be honored by the school district and community. The Meeker School District welcomes all community members to attend this ceremony. Kickoff for the football game on Oct. 7 is scheduled for 7 p.m.
