Volunteers encouraged to join pow wow event

MEEKER — Smoking River Pow Wow welcomes prospective volunteers to an orientation session Tuesday evening, July 8 at the Meeker Interagency Office. This is an exciting opportunity for community members to participate in this year’s inaugural event; newcomers are encouraged.
The volunteer briefing will begin after a 6 p.m. screening of “Into the Circle: An introduction to Native American Powwows,” a brief documentary film that is strongly recommended for prospective volunteers.
