Nine teams showed up in support of the Meeker Cowboy football team for the annual Cowboy Kickoff Classic. The golf tournament, ice cream social, and silent auction packed the clubhouse at the Meeker Golf Course. The 18-hole four-man scramble brought in support for the team including parents, community members and employees of Haselden working on the new high school. This year’s winners with a score of 60 were Ivy, Andy and Pat Coryell of Meeker and Jim Abshire of Salina, Utah. The Cowboys have their first game this weekend on the road at Hotchkiss; kickoff at 7. Next Friday you will be able to see them in action at home taking on the Coal Ridge Titans at 7 p.m. at Starbucks Stadium.
