As the Meeker Cowboys moved up in the rankings to the third spot just below Wiggins and Denver Christian, their sophomore outside hitter Emma Luce was awarded MAXPREPS/AVCA Player of the Week for March 28.
The Cowboys have played four games and Luce has averaged 25.5 kills per game, for a total of 102 kills, to go along with the 67 digs, 14 aces, and eight blocks. Luce was ranked number one in the state across all classes with 102 kills last week. The Cowboys were unable to play over the weekend due to COVID, so she has dropped to number two, but Meeker has games this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday which will give her an opportunity to earn back that top spot.
Luce and the Cowboys will take on Vail Mountain at home this Thursday, JV will begin at 4:30 with varsity to follow. Both Friday and Saturday they are on the road, Friday at Olathe and Saturday at Hotchkiss.
