Ice Fishing Derby at Lake Avery Saturday

MEEKER I The ERBM Recreation and Park District is sponsoring a free Family Ice Fishing Derby at Lake Avery on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those wishing to ride the bus to the lake should be at the Meeker Recreation Center by 8:30 a.m. (Some restrictions apply; see advertisement in this week’s paper.) The bus will arrive back at the center at 1:30 p.m.
The Division of Wildlife, a co-sponsor of the event, will be on hand to provide equipment and instruction, if needed. A fishing license is required for fishermen age 16 and over. Additional sponsors include Bellco Credit Union, Williams, Mountain Valley Bank, Meeker Sand and Gravel, White River Realty, White River Electric and Ma Famiglia Restaurant.
A free hot lunch and hot chocolate will be provided. There will be prizes for all ages; all participants will receive a gift. Family members of all ages are invited. Call the MRC at 878-3403 for more information.
