Surprise!

It’s hard to pull one over on Denise Pearce but several friends were able to surprise the “princess” on her 50th birthday last week. Happy birthday Denise!

Toby Casias won the 100- and 200-meter dashes last Saturday in Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction at the annual Frank Woodburn Invitational track meet. Casias’ top placing helped his team finish seventh in a field of 15 teams, featuring mostly 3A, 4A and 5A schools.

Aero Club fundraiser

Former Meeker High School graduate Marcus Kindall, now a student/pilot at Colorado Northwestern Community College, and several of his fellow Aero Club members were in Meeker Sunday for a Meeker Lions Club Bingo fundraiser.

Feeling lucky

Terrence Casias was the lucky winner of $250,000 on a $10 scratch ticket, which netted him a check from the Colorado State Lottery for $177,500 after taxes.
