RBC ‘Cup’ won by the golfers from Meeker Golf Course

Meeker Golf Course a busy place, to host RBC Cup this weekend
MEEKER I White River Electric Association’s annual golf tournament filled the Meeker Golf Course on Friday, followed by the annual two-day, two-man best-ball tournament, and this weekend Meeker will host the annual Rio Blanco County Cup, which is currently on display in Rangely.
Blunt, Shults shine at Ladies’ Deerfly
MEEKER I The annual Ladies’ Deerfly Golf Tournament did not have a large field but the competition was tough, especially in the second flight, where local golfers Hallie Blunt and Sally Lou Shults won the title.

The 2016 Coed Softball season, sponsored by the Eastern Rio Blanco Metropolitan Recreation and Park District, started Monday with games played on both Paintbrush Park fields. The league consists of six teams with games being played Mondays and Wednesdays, on both fields. The first game starts at 6:30 p.m.
Several Meeker tracksters place at what coach calls ‘good state meet’
MEEKER I “We had a great state meet this year, both the boys’ and girls’ teams had numerous personal bests and every girls’ relay made the finals,” Meeker track coach John Strate said.

MEEKER I The field was not but the competition was in the annual two-man scramble golf tournament held at the Meeker Golf Course last week.
MHS baseballers second in district
MEEKER I The Meeker High School Cowboy baseball team ended its season in Cortez on Saturday in the district tournament, beating Dolores in the first round, then losing to the state’s No. 1 ranked Paonia Eagles in the championship game.
