Undersheriff Joos seeks election as county sheriff
RBC I Rio Blanco County Undersheriff Michael Joos has thrown his hat into the race for Rio Blanco County Sheriff after a 39 year career in law enforcement which began as a police cadet with the Federal Heights (Colo.) Police Department in 1975.

RBC I Due to incorrect information provided by the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office and a death notice from the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, the man who died in a Dec. 4 tractor rollover off County Road 2 was incorrectly identified. The victim was Vernon “Dale” Lane, 60, of Rangely.

Several gingerbread men and women were on hand as passengers on the Pioneers Medical Center float Friday night in downtown Meeker as part of the town’s Christmas tree lighting, Parade of Lights and fireworks. There were 20 entries in the parade, which lasted about 20 minutes.

Bonnie Ruckman, the director of the Rio Blanco County Department of Human Services, spent plenty of time cutting her retirement cake on Monday afternoon at Meeker Town Hall.

Rangely man dies in tractor accident while plowing drive
RANGELY I A 60-year-old Rangely man was killed in a single vehicle accident on Dec. 4, when the farm tractor he was using to plow his neighbor’s driveway slid, rolled over and pinned the man underneath.
