Fall Festival 2013: Community joins to aid non-profits, have fun

MEEKER I Downtown Meeker will be buzzing from 11 a.m. to mid afternoon on Saturday as Mountain Valley Bank hosts its 10th annual Fall Festival with co-sponsors White River Electric Association (WREA) and the ERBM Recreation and Park District for the benefit of local non-profit fund-raising efforts.

MEEKER | A couple of errors occurred in the Sept. 12 edition of the Herald Times regarding the Meeker Classic Sheepdog Championship Trials.

Large deer…

Perhaps eating leaves helps deer build strong bodies, but between these three bucks there are at least 22 antler points, not counting brow tines. The three big bucks were spotted this past weekend eating the leaves of a tree that had been downed by lightning or high winds in Meeker.

Meeker PEO Quilt Show…

A large number of quilts were on display at the PEO Quilt Show on Friday and Saturday at the old Meeker elementary school downtown.

During Septemberfest in Rangely over the Labor Day weekend, the Rangely Museum held its annual ice cream social on Sunday as well as unveiled its new hand-painted, non-stencil sign, done by noted local artist Tabitha Hejl, pictured above.
