Memorial honors county veterans
MEEKER I The ground was broken in early June on the lawn and sidewalk at the Rio Blanco County Courthouse, but the statue and the stone/concrete construction of the actual Rio Blanco County Veterans Memorial will be unveiled and dedicated in downtown Meeker on Thursday after the parade.

From My Window… God bless the firefighters; Range Call begins Wednesday
Smoke to the left of us, smoke to the right of us; smoke all around us. That seems to be the battle cry for the past two weeks for those of us in Rio Blanco County. Thank God for the firefighters!
Veterans’ memorial…
Tony Clausen of Craig and Doug McDow of Meeker, representing Luke Renninger Log Homes, have been donating time to help erect the pedestal that will hold the Rio Blanco County Veterans Memorial statue on the county courthouse lawn.
MSD preliminary budget calls for concern, optimism
MEEKER I Meeker School District is one of only three districts statewide that will see a decrease in its per-pupil funding for Fiscal Year 2013-14 (FY14), according to Meeker School District Superintendent Susan Goettel.

MEEKER I The independent audit of how the Town of Meeker is run financially shows a town that continues to have a large cash carryover and is being well run by town officials, notably the town administrator and town clerk.
County accepts old Meeker school; future use uncertain
MEEKER I The Rio Blanco County commissioners voted unanimously Monday to accept possession of the downtown Meeker property known as the old Meeker elementary school, but they made it clear that the building is not automatically going to be demolished in favor of the new county justice center.

RANGELY I Feeling that his town has been left out of consideration for too long, Rangely Mayor Frank Huitt believes the Early Education Center, which is now for sale by Rangely School Ditrict RE-4, would make an ideal location for the new Rio Blanco County Justice Center.
