MEEKER | Last Saturday, the Barone Middle School track team competed in Kremmling.
“We could not have asked for a better day to compete,” commented head coach Marki Grant. “The weather was perfect, and the kids were ready to roll.”
The Cowboys had some huge personal records set across the board and scored major points in all grades.
Taking first place was Holt Pelloni in discus, Dom Roach in discus, Cienna Rogers in discus, Ashton Tapia in the 800 meter run and long jump, Midy Camargo 100 meter hurdles and 400 meter dash, Loar Noar in the 100, Kael Overton 1600 meter run, seventh grade girls 4×100 meter relay of Tacey Toon, Cienna Rogers, Azalia Bresnak and Midy Camargo and the 4×200 meter relay of Toon, Rogers, Raegan Clatterbaugh and Camargo, and finally the eighth grade girls 4×100 of Gracee Gardner, McKenna Berthelson, Loar and Julie Kracht.
The eighth grade boys won the overall meet, eighth grade girls took fourth, and the seventh grade girls and seventh grade boys took third. “The impressive thing about these athletes is there were top placers in every event we competed in, once again,” wrapped up Grant.
The Barone Middle School track team competed and placed well in the meet in West Grand last weekend. The eighth grade boys won the overall meet.
