Meeker | The Barone Middle School seventh graders started off the season on fire with a 40-0 win over the Rifle Bears.
“There were many notable athletes in that game and everyone did their part, commented head coach Jeremy Woodward. “In particular Lawson Anderson not only had a fantastic game running back a couple scores including the opening kickoff to start the game, but he also played a vital role in the eighth grade game when he was needed.
The BMS eighth grade fell to the Bears 28-0.
The second half of the game the team saw improvement as they were able to seal the edge better and get penetration into the back field from inside and outside.
“Both teams fought hard and did some great things,” said Woodward.
The teams now have some things to work on and will get back to work and get ready to travel to Saratoga on Friday, Sept. 8.
