MEEKER | BMS traveled to Craig on Feb. 2.
The 7B team lost 9-16. Payton Arnold had one point, Lauryn Shults and Julie Kracht each had four points.
The 7A team lost 17-28 after Craig got a run in the fourth quarter. Kracht scored six, Norah Loar and Avarie Caulfield each two, and Jayci Chintala led with seven.
“Both teams had great hustle, great rebounds, and wonderful ball movement,” commented Claudie Bullen.
The eighth grade B team played a great game but came up short losing 13-22. Scoring for the Cowboys were Olivia Griffiths with 11 and Sawyer May with two.
Jen Phelan said, “We were up at the half but couldn’t keep our lead in the fourth quarter.”
The eighth grade A team came away with a victory 27-23.
This was the third time playing Craig this season and the team lost the first two times, “so this win was a total team effort,” commented Phelan.
Leading scorers with eight each were Kayla Castillo and Lily Hernandez-Pena. Dawn Arnold had six points, Skylar Grimes three and Ava Nay chipped in two.
The Cowboys will finish their season with a home tournament on Feb. 10 and 11.
