MEEKER I Meeker joined seven teams in attending a middle school meet held at the Coal Ridge track on Saturday. The competition was as stiff as the wind, and we had the opportunity to see a largely different group of schools. We still had some successes, and brought home a number of ribbons. Although we do not yet have complete 200-meter dash or medley relay results, we can share other performances. Seventh grade girls had Ruth LeBlanc winning shot put, and Kailynn Watson third in that event. The seventh grade boys had Tucker Chinn taking first place in the 100-meter hurdles, and second in the 200-meter hurdles. Aidan Tapia finished in third place in the 800-meter run for the eighth grade boys; Tristin Rollins took second in shot put, and discus had Kai Sjoerdsma in second, and Remy Broussard was third. For the eighth grade girls, Haylee Steele finished second in the 1,600-meter run, and Rylee Sullivan was third in the 200-meter hurdles and second place in high jump. Addison Knowles took second place in shot put, and won the discus event. Lilly Newman was first place in the long jump. Sullivan and Knowles were joined by Shailee Rundberg and Jacey Follman for third place in the 4×100 relay, and Emma Bauer joined Follman, Knowles and Rundberg in the 800-meter medley relay, also for third place.
