MEEKER I MHS cross country traveled to Kremmling for the West Grand Invitational on Saturday. It was overcast and cool for the start of the girls race, in which Brighton Bair had a great race, finishing in fourth place, at a time of 24:41. Callie Stout ran the challenging, muddy course in 38:36 for 33rd place.
The sun was just starting to shine for the boys race, and the Cowboy squad ran well, to a fourth place team score. Gabe Richardson was the first Cowboy to the finish line, running 22:43 for 10th place. Eddie Drussell and Gabe Smithers were not far behind, in 16th and 17th places, and 23:14 and 23:16 respectively. Gage Richardson was our fourth teammate in, at 24:26 for 23rd place, and Wyatt Rollins took 28th place, in a time of 25:17.
“Kremmling had received quite a bit of rain on Friday, which made for some interesting spots on their trails. The temperatures were great for racing, and everyone still ran well, with some of them enjoying the puddles more than others.”
