MHS homecoming …
Meeker High School juniors Dylan Mobley and Mariah Jensen were crowned king and queen for the 2012 homecoming. Seniors Anne George and Scott Smith were first attendants and Jeremy Musgrave and Linda Olivas were second attendants.

Everyone is invited to the Meeker Homecoming parade at 2 p.m. Friday, following a barbecue on the courthouse lawn to benefit the MHS athletic department starting at 11:30 a.m. Meeker will host the Paonia Eagles in volleyball and football Friday night.

MEEKER I At the risk of making my “Old School” beliefs completely transparent, I am going to write my version of the day On Lime Kiln, where I was so fortunate to learn that the value of a neighbor and the strength of an entire community still exists.
The brushstrokes of a lifetime
RANGELY I Some of the murals are gone. One fell victim to a careless semi truck driver, another to a building’s closure. A third was destroyed, only to be re-painted. All of them, says painter Dawna Wardell, are part of the natural ebb and flow of change.
Rock Crawling Competition free to all participants
RANGELY I Now in its sixth year, the Rangely Rock Crawling Park competition and trail ride stands apart from other events like it. The difference is the amount of cash it costs to participate, which adds up to exactly nothing.
Panthers receive new scoreboard
RANGELY I A new scoreboard was installed and dedicated last week at the 2012 homecoming game against the Nucla Mustangs. The Panthers lit up the new scoreboard, scoring 61 points, while only allowing the Mustangs 6.
Students receive scholarships
RBC I Colorado Northwestern Community College is one of only six community colleges and four universities in Colorado and Wyoming that will receive scholarship assistance from the National Western Scholarship Trust.
Lime Kiln region offered challenges
MEEKER I Many pioneer families made their start in the beautiful, yet harsh, Lime Kiln region south of Meeker. One family, the Kirkpatricks, endured some of the toughest times in the area.
