MEEKER I On March 18, the the Meeker School Board announced two finalists had been selected for April 3 interviews for the next superintendent of Meeker schools.

MEEKER I For the first time in 15 years, the Rio Blanco Fire Protection District has a new fire chief, and Marshall Cook will also take over the title of EMT (emergency medical technician) chief, succeeding longtime chief Steve Allen.

Barone wins history contest and will send 16 students to state
MEEKER I At the regional National History Day competition in Grand Junction on March 7, Meeker’s Barone Middle School beat out Olathe Middle School by one project, forwarding 16 students with eight projects to state competition, to be held in Denver on May 2.
Museum seeks funds for military displays
MEEKER I The Rio Blanco County Historical Society has started a project to raise funds to improve the military uniform display at the White River Museum in Meeker.
