Meeker has two 8-10 year old baseball teams and they are evenly matched, as two extra innings were needed to determine a winner in a game between the two last week before they joined for a group photo.

Alumni games …

Faculty and staff of Meeker High School beat this year’s graduated seniors 63-55 in the annual Faculty versus Seniors game benefiting the Meeker High School basketball programs. The Even Years team beat the Odd Years 68-54 in the annual alumni game played Memorial Day weekend.

MEEKER I Summer is here and people are out walking and running and taking advantage of the warm weather. It is extremely important to understand the town ordinance on pets to ensure safety for everyone.

Meeker High School graduate Katie Stewart presented her research, analysis and recommendation on Meeker’s sales tax leakage, which earned her a masters degree from Colorado Mesa University.

Pioneers celebrate centennial reunion

MEEKER I More than 300 Rio Blanco County Pioneers Association members, including many former Meeker residents from across the nation, traveled to Meeker for the centennial celebration of the “Old Timers” Reunion Dinner and Dance on Saturday, June 2 at the Fairfield Community Center.
