MEEKER — The Town of Meeker’s planning commission needs a new member. The board of trustees planned to appoint a new member to fill the vacancy left by Martha Griffin at the June 2 meeting, but no letters of interest had been received.

MEEKER — Although several of the 26 teams competing in the annual Ladies’ Deerfly scramble tournament were from Meeker, it was the visiting golfers who took top honors last Saturday at the Meeker Golf Course.

Fishing is Fun day was Saturday, June 6. Rangely’s fishing derby at Kenney Reservoir was sponsored by the Rio Blanco Water Conservancy District and the Colorado Division of Wildlife. Meeker’s fishermen were out in force the same day, but fished at Circle Park in Meeker.

MEEKER — Prices for school breakfasts and lunches will go up next year. School board members approved the increases at a meeting June 2.

MEEKER — The White River and Douglas Creek Conservation Districts’ annual barbecue will be June 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Upper Colorado Environmental Plant Center, on County Road 4, with a tour to follow.
