Opinion
Letter to the Editor: Don’t destroy our old school
Dear Editor: First off, I’m not sentimental about having attended school in the old elementary school. I am, however, passionate about saving a true historic building in its entirety to the benefit of all residents of Rio Blanco County.
Letter to the Editor: Efforts to secure funds for highways
Dear Editor: Finally, a group, MPACT64, (Club 20 is a member) is leading an effort to secure more funds for our deteriorating state highway system.
Letter to the Editor: Community center not needed
Dear Editor: I am totally amused by the number of people who have written letters to the editor and articles for the paper regarding “the Justice Center.” Really people, you should not open your mouth until you have checked out the facts.
From My Window… Pot sales an issue to ponder; Classic a woolly success
Out my window, I see a few unsettling clouds on the horizon in the form of debate that has the potential to divide the “old school” residents of Meeker and Rangely from what could be described as the “new thought” residents of the two towns.
Letter to the Editor: Postmaster moving on, says thanks
Dear Editor: This is an open letter to the Meeker Community. I have accepted a transfer and will be leaving the Meeker Post Office as of Sept. 1.
Letter to the Editor: Aghast over plan for old elementary school
Dear Editor: Addressing the article on the Rio Blanco County Commissioners published in the local newspaper on Aug. 22, I was simply aghast to read of their plans and or ideas (regarding the old Meeker elementary school).
Letter to the Editor: Treated well in Meeker
Dear Editor: My father, Roy Green, was born in Meeker, Colo., in 1919. He is no longer living, but I wanted to visit Meeker, where I was also born.
From My Window… Septemberfest a great showcase for Rangely; Sheep Up!
Rangely residents were out in droves this past weekend as Septemberfest brought residents and visitors to a wide variety of locations for an even wider variety of events to celebrate Labor Day.
Letter to the Editor: Commissioners ignoring public
Dear Editor: Having read the Aug. 22 Herald Times article titled “County has four plans for justice center using old school,” it occurs to me that there is “a rat in the wood pile.”
Letter to the Editor: Specific Range Call parade photo sought
Dear Editor: I rode my hopped-up 2000 black and chrome Harley Davidson motorcycle in Meeker’s Range Call Parade on the Fourth of July.
From My Window… Heartwarming support for Avery; busy start to September
It is truly heartwarming to see a community jump behind one of its members and throw out a rope to help support that member who has fallen prey to a truly tough time.
