The last four years, those of you who comprise the wonderful community and county of Rio Blanco have been well represented by commissioner Kai Turner. Rio Blanco County and Northwest Colorado need experience, knowledge, dedication and a commitment to serve and represent those who have elected you to office.

Letter to the Editor: Survey well received
First and foremost, I would like to say thank you to everyone who participated in the sales tax leakage survey as well as those individuals and local businesses that helped to make this project possible.
Letter to the Editor: Association thank you
The National Barrel Horse Association Colorado District 10 had a barrel race in Rangely, Colo., at Columbine Park on May 19. I would like to thank the Daniel Lapp family, Jed the CNCC rodeo coach, Ted (who helped with the speaker system and photographer), the Rangely Cattlewomen who provided a[Read More…]
Loose Ends: A yearly tradition
It appears this year the pranksters are packing. At least that is what their pockets stuffed with clear, plastic tape might indicate. Theos backs Turner for commissioner Dear Editor:
Loose Ends: Oh, the stories they tell

Letter to the Editor: Thank you all, very much
Dear Editor: Just after midnight on April 15 of this year, my hometown of Woodward, Okla., was struck by a tornado. Six people lost their lives and many homes and businesses were destroyed. We are getting things cleaned up, but it will be years before the scars left behind are[Read More…]
Loose Ends: Volunteer
There is one thing a community can never have in excess: volunteers. Warm weather brings out an annual call for helpers all through the town and some organizations are needier than others.

A Google search for newsworthy items in Meeker, Colo., for the past week yielded little more than a Louisiana paper’s account of the Mountain Valley Bank robbery. According to www.thetowntalk.com , the $1,279 Thacker[Read More…]
Up and Down El Rio Blanco: In the merry month of May
First let me write: Happy birthday, Haylee! May is definitively my favorite month of the year. It is the month my daughter and only granddaughter were born, it has my favorite holiday – Mother’s Day (May 13, don’t forget), and it brings the peak of spring and all that spring[Read More…]

Thank you Dear Editor: The Hodges and Dyer families are sending out a big thank you to the Rangely community.
Every day should be Earth Day
RBC I Earth Day, just passed, is the day we all look at ways we can reduce our carbon footprint. 20 percent of all greenhouse gases come from automobiles, so it makes sense to start there.
