Taking on a new art form due to sun and the heat, the ice tower at Colorado Northwest Community College is erected every year and used for ice climbing instruction as well as recreation.

Spring runoff, subsequent freezing and thawing and vehicles driving over the softened area have caused an approximately 4×4-foot section of asphalt to buckle in Rangely’s White River Market parking lot, store director Bill Wilkinson said Saturday. “Once the weather warms further, the section will be patched,” he said.
