Thank you veterans Dear Editor: As everyone knows from the column in last week’s letter to the editor, Meeker had some very special guests in our town. The Wounded Warriors cycled from Rangely to Meeker and stayed overnight in Meeker.

Lifelong home for Jim Steele

RANGELY I Few people can claim they still live in the same place they were born, particularly after 78 years. Jim Steele lives on Foundation Creek, up Douglas Creek, where his parents homesteaded 90 years ago.

Rangely team finishes 3rd

RANGELY I “We had a pretty good weekend,” said Paul Fortunato, coach of the Rangely 15-18 baseball team team, about his team’s performance in the Green River tournament held last weekend in Wyoming. The Rangely team won three of five games and finished third in a field of 10 teams.

Baseball teams in the 11-12 Recreation League from Meeker, Rangely, Craig and Baggs, Wyo., will start their tournament in Meeker tonight with Rangely playing Baggs and both Meeker teams playing against each other starting at 7:30 at Paintbrush Park. MLEA well attended

RANGELY I Close to 1,500 people turned out June 7 for Moon Lake Electric Association’s annual members meeting. The event was held for the first time in its new headquarters operations building located at 800 West Hwy. 40 in Roosevelt, Utah.
