This year’s Septemberfest was a huge success because of all the volunteer help and donations that were received. Friday afternoon at Nichols Store, Mrs. Pat Hejl, Mrs. Peggy Rector and I seasoned and wrapped 44 roasts in an hour 45 minutes for the dinner on Labor Day.

The Rangely Police Department held its annual bike rally during Septemberfest. The weather was cooperative and we had a great turnout. After riding the safety course, the kids were allowed to register to win a bike.

Meeker man shoots himself on Sept. 8
MEEKER I A 58-year-old local man was in critical condition last week at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction after what authorities believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the stomach.
